About the Arc Universities Student Panel
The Arc Universities Student Panel Summit brings together doctoral students from diverse backgrounds and disciplines across the Oxford to Cambridge region to explore the transformative potential of academic research. This event fosters collaboration, enhances public engagement skills, and provides an invaluable opportunity to reflect on how research and academic careers can drive sustainable development, regional innovation, and economic growth across the UK.
Building on the success of the 2022 summit, which underscored the vital role of student input in the region’s progress, the 2024 AUG Student Panel continues to prioritise student involvement in shaping the regional agenda.
Throughout the year, the panel has facilitated a series of discussions, culminating in a one-day summit on November 5th at the University of Bedfordshire, titled “Embedding Sustainability for the Long Term in the Oxford-Cambridge Region.” This event will focus on ensuring that sustainability remains a central and enduring principle in the region’s future development.
Directions to University of Bedfordshire
By Car
– From the M1, take **Junction 10** for Luton Airport/Luton South.
– Follow signs for the **A1081** towards Luton Town Centre.
– Continue on the **A505** (Chapel Viaduct) into the town centre.
– University Square is located off Park Street, near the town centre.
– Parking: The nearest car parks are The Mall Luton or Power Court Car Park.
By Bus
– Many local buses stop at Luton Town Centre bus interchange, a short walk from University Square.
– Bus routes: Arriva 100, 101, 102, and Stagecoach 99 serve Luton town centre.
By Train
– Arrive at Luton Railway Station on the Thameslink or East Midlands Railway line.
– The station is a 10-minute walk from University Square.
– From the station, head southwest on Bute Street, turn left on Park Street, and University Square will be on your right.
