Arc Universities

The overall aim of the Oxford to Cambridge Arc is to achieve rapid economic growth, at the same time as prioritising the carbon-neutral agenda.

In the recent industrial strategy work, the Arc Universities Group was described by government as

‘the focal point for cross-arc collaboration in science and research, delivering joint R&D projects and providing a pipeline of talent to knowledge intensive industries’

Building on the success of the Local Industrial Strategies, the work of the Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs), and our vision for the Arc, with the support of Research England, we have been able to undertake five desk research projects to stablish the baseline and to inform priorities for the future.

The projects, which are led by colleagues at Cranfield, the Open University and Anglia Ruskin University, cover the following areas:

Entrepreneurship and enterprise

Skills

The environment and natural capital

Space

Aerospace

The findings will be available in Spring 2020.
