Arc Universities

The Arc Universities Group has announced the inaugural chair of its Editorial and Communications Board. Aaron Cohen-Gold, Public Affairs Manager (regional) for the University of Cambridge, will take on the role from May 2021.

A longstanding member of the AUG, having been involved with the group since its earliest meetings in 2018, Aaron will lead the Board, which is made up of communications, marketing, media and public affairs specialists from the nine universities.

At Cambridge, Aaron manages the University’s political engagements across eastern England and with its representatives in Westminster. His work helps inform University policy and supports the integration of academics into regional policymaking. He represents the University on various local and regional boards, including the Greater Cambridge Partnership and Cambridge Ahead.

Aaron said:

“I am excited to help guide the communications vision for the Arc Universities Group.  It is important to shine a light on amazing work that the universities are collaborating on, both with each other, and with government and industry. Working with the members of the Editorial and Communications Board, we will amplify the important innovation, research and investment activities across the region’s universities.”

Alistair Lomax, Director of the Arc Universities Group said:

“Aaron’s appointment is a signal of the importance of creating dialogue between all the stakeholders involved the Arc. It is not enough to use our combined strengths across research, technology, science and innovation, we must actively promote the amazing work that is taking place, all in support of increasing the Arc’s contribution to the UK economy and society.”
