The University of Bedfordshire recently hosted a free ‘Creating Growth’ event for regional Small to Medium sized Enterprises (SMEs), offering advice and step-by-step guidance on overcoming potential challenges in a bid to encourage economic growth within the county.

The University of Bedfordshire recently hosted a free ‘Creating Growth’ event for regional Small to Medium sized Enterprises (SMEs), offering advice and step-by-step guidance on overcoming potential challenges in a bid to encourage economic growth within the county.

In partnership with Bedford Borough Council and South East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership (SEMLEP), the day of talks and workshops took place at the University’s Bedford Campus on in March 2023, attracting over 30 diverse businesses across a variety of industries, including the creative arts sector.

Nathan March, Senior Business Partnerships Manager with Bedfordshire’s Research & Innovation Service, helped to arrange the activities and guest speakers. He said:

“The Creating Growth event was a fantastic showcase of the positive impact that can be achieved when businesses, universities and local partners come together in a collaborative effort to support the regional SME community. The positive feedback received from attendees is a testament to the valuable insights shared and connections formed, highlighting the importance of business support and university engagement for economic growth.
