Arc Universities

The government announced a £900 million Getting Building Fund to deliver jobs, skills and infrastructure across the country. This investment is being targeted in areas facing the biggest economic challenges as a result of the pandemic.

 

It is supporting the delivery of shovel-ready infrastructure projects, including Westcott Disruptive Innovation Space Centre, an Innovation Hub for Milton Keynes and a research super-hub in Peterborough; all projects that will boost economic growth, and fuel local recovery and jobs in the region.

Westcott Disruptive Innovative Space Centre.

Funding has been secured to deliver Phase 1 of the Disruptive Innovative Space Centre at Westcott, a fundamental part of building the critical core of the future UK Space Industry. This project will support the growth of the space cluster in Propulsion, 5G and Drones.

MK:U – Start up to Scale Up Programme
Building on the MK:U Accelerator, due to open in 2021, this project will create an Innovation Hub in Milton Keynes, known as the Smart City Living Lab (SCLL). It will provide education and support to scale start-up businesses via the MK:U Start Up to Scale Up Programme. Read more

Peterborough Research Super-Hub 
The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority (CPCA) is seeking to develop a technical higher education provision in Peterborough. Funding from Get Britain Building will accelerate delivery of an independent advanced manufacturing and materials research centre to sit alongside it, providing infrastructure to support the development of an innovation ecosystem across Peterborough and The Fens.
