Professor Deborah Johnston MBE has been appointed as Vice Chancellor and Chief Executive of the University of Bedfordshire.
She joins the University from London South Bank University (LSBU), where she is currently Deputy Vice Chancellor, and will take up her post later this year.
Professor Johnston joined LSBU in April 2020 as Pro Vice Chancellor (Academic Framework), having previously held the role of Pro-Director for Learning and Teaching at SOAS University of London. She was subsequently promoted to Deputy Vice Chancellor, where she has led a wide range of professional services supporting institutional growth, quality, and strategic development across both the University and LSBU Group – an integrated education group comprising the University, further education colleges and academies.
